ABTB - [Rawtide] 4th Album
Release Date: June 23, 2026
Rock band ABTB marks their 10th anniversary with the release of their 4th full-length album [RAWTIDE] — not merely a celebration of the past decade, but a declaration of a new voyage. Through an intense process of self-deconstruction and reassembly, the album distills a raw, untamed sound that signals a bold new chapter for the band.
[RAWTIDE] delves deeply into the internal fragmentation experienced by individuals navigating modern society, and the complex web of relationships with others. The modern self is no longer a singular subject — it is constantly split through the acts of self-management, self-curation, and self-performance. The album maps this structure of division across 8 fragments (tracks), weaving a musical narrative around the gap between dreams and reality, desire and ideals — born from the act of emotionally detaching to endure pain, and summoning alternate selves to survive. It is a record of relationships that sharply captures the inner silence and screams that remain unintegrated, left behind as residue.
The production approach was equally uncompromising. Abandoning the conventional method of recording to a fixed tempo and metronome, the band surrendered to the most natural flow each song demanded. Rooted in a simultaneous live recording method — with all members breathing and playing together in the studio at once — artificial processing and correction were kept to a minimum, preserving the organic energy and live vitality of the band ensemble in its truest form. Meticulously layered post-production work on top of this raw sound further reinforces the album's sonic density.
This is also the first full-length album to feature new vocalist Lee Do-kyung (Lee Yun-chan) officially taking the microphone. His clear and nuanced voice adds new depth to ABTB's signature heavy hard rock texture, completing a fresh musical persona for the band. Additionally, guitarist Gwak Sang-gyu delivers rap verses with a cynical tone on select tracks, pushing against genre boundaries with unconventional and daring experimentation.
The entire production — from concept, composition, and arrangement through to mixing led by guitarist Hwang Rin — was completed 100% in-house, with no external involvement. The final sonic refinement was achieved through professional external mastering. [RAWTIDE] brings together a decade of experience, an uncompromising vision, and a new voice — offering the purest and most ferocious current that band production can deliver to the Korean rock scene in 2026.
