Thornapple - [My Century] EP Album
Release date: 2026-07-06
Sohn Apple's new EP [My Century] does not speak of dazzling success or soaring triumph. Even as the band passes through their most fervent and densely charged moments, they chose instead to quietly gaze upon the sense of their own time drawing to a close. This disposition — calmly contemplating an ending from the very center of overwhelming attention and heat — is quintessentially Sohn Apple, a band that has built its fortress upon the bedrock of solitude, anxiety, madness, and survival.
The tracks are woven together into a vast, interlocking current of anxiety, decay, dissolution, and rebirth. It opens with Luminescence, suffused with a sorrowful longing to hold onto a fading existence. This is followed by Good Old Days, which captures the twilight of once-eternal things with a strangely refreshing clarity. The restless warmth then erupts violently in Sea, Cloud and Stage, a track that speaks of life and graves while shaking the entire space to its core — the cycle of life and death, where one ends and another begins, rendered at its most vivid.
Acacia arrives draped in smooth brass and polished rhythms, yet beneath the surface lies a strange silence of closed eyes and sealed lips, a resignation where every sense seems to have gone numb. The final chapter, Planetarium, races forward with unbridled momentum and falsetto pushed to its limits, reaching boldly outward toward a wider world and the next century. And so [My Century] draws its curtain — upon a world that has punctuated itself — generously opening the door to another time yet to come.
Perhaps Sohn Apple hopes that in the space their own time has passed through, someone else's time will newly bloom. The way to enjoy their century is not so difficult: there is no need to measure or decode the depth of the wounds they have planted. Simply lending a quiet ear to the cool warmth that flows out is enough. Your new century will finally begin.
